Voter Time

Hello everyone, sorry for a few days without posts. Since elections are right around the corner I figure it's a good idea to share political ideology quizzes. Many people see the election as "right vs. left" without giving any real thought to the issues at hand.

Here are my picks for the best political quizzes I could find:

1. GoToQuiz - Did a pretty good job of determining how much freedoms you would like to enjoy
2. Smallest Political Quiz - This is the ideal format for such a quiz however it failed to bring up many other important topics (ex: guns, abortion, immigration)
3. Political Compass - I really wouldn't say this is the best just because of how stupid some of the questions are phrased but this is one of the more popular quizzes of its type.

Personally I am Libertarian and damned proud of it. I feel that no one has the authority to tell others how to live their lives (so long as it doesn't harm others). And though it may sound extremely controversial I do often argue that Republicans and Democrats are the same, and America has been (recently) functioning as a 1 party system called "Big Government...How Do You Want It?". I say this on the basis that the only thing either side has really managed to accomplish is building a bigger federal system. Thoughts?

Also check out the poll on the side of my blog- "Which way would you prefer to vote?"

I'll leave you with this:

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it." ~ Thomas Jefferson

  1. Each party serves whatever special interests funded their campaigns, I don't like it.

  2. Proud Libertarian here. Sick of the 2 party domination we have. 3rd parties have ZERO chance when they are never invited to television debates. Hince Ron Paul going republican.

  4. I couldn't pass up the irony of voting for "I choose not to vote". I usually don't bother voting, but when I do it's generally with a Libertarian slant.

  5. You know, personally, I don't really identify all the way with any one philosophy when it comes to politics. I'm not a centrist, but I am all over the place. Some issues I have very liberal leanings, others conservative, others libertarian.

  6. I agree with Paul, I'm tired of the 2 parties being the only ones that get elected in on a large scale. I'm tired of these two parties simply passing power back and forth. Neither one can offer a whole lot at the moment, this is the time for a 3rd party to rise.

  8. @Paul, ron has always been between Republicans and Libertarians; i think he just tags along with them to get his name around when he needs it, i really cant blame him. Regardless of his party he is a person of sound moral character which is why id prefer to vote for him

  14. I live in Australia and it annoys the hell out of me that i have to vote.
I don't mind doing it, and i would anyway, its just not really a democracy if I'm forced to.

  15. Very interesting post. I do agree that the government is slowly getting larger, and accordingly are assuming more and more power. If more ordinary citizens are informed of how the US government really operates, I think we can begin to see real changes.
